A 63-year-old Singaporean man has been arrested for his suspected involvement in a housebreaking case at a retail outlet along Clementi Avenue 2. Police said they were alerted to the incident at around 2:30am on March 17, after the shop’s rear gate was allegedly damaged and an arowana fish worth about S$1,400 was reported missing. The suspect was identified through ground enquiries and police camera footage, and was arrested within 13 hours. The fish was later recovered, but it was found dead. The man is expected to be charged in court for housebreaking with intent to commit theft, and could face up to 10 years in jail and a fine if convicted.
